Amazing Computer!
Product Uses:
downloading, music, school work, videos, games
Review:
This Dell 17R laptop is fantastic! As a fulltime student, I need a reliable laptop. The size of the screen on this laptop is amazing, it allows me to focus better while completing homework because my eyes do not get distracted with what is going on around me. I use this computer as my desktop at home, and it is so reliable, I have not had one problem with it since I bought it. The processing speed and capacity to download are so fast compared to my older Dell laptop. Watching a movie on HD makes a huge difference, in fact watching movies on my computer is BETTER than my HD flatscreen television. Another fantastic feature is that the volume turns up really loudly, so you do not even need to attach speakers in order to watch a movie. (Amazing right??))) The charger for this computer lights up in blue, so you know that the computer is plugged in and charging. I would recommend this computer to anyone and everyone!

Hi Guys! I have the Inspiron 15R. This computer has a dedicated graphics card, an i5 processor and a 500GB hard drive..and its Pink!! I am a girl gamer and to be able to have a pink laptop that can handle games like EQ2 and WoW just makes my day!! Also, this computer is great for video editing, movie making, picture editing and with so much hard drive space you dont have to worry about running out of room for your stuff. Also, if you are really looking for a good deal check out the Dell Outlet. That is where I purchased my Dell from and it is perfect!

Pro: Looks nice very light has everything you need. eg. webcam, mic, The function buttons are very convienent as you dont have to press fn b4 pressing it Big touchpad
Cons: Fan runs alot finger prints are very visible on the cover of the laptop Cant play games in high resolution only 3.6/7 for graphics The laptop has a thin rise, so its always touching the surface of a table or what not.
Verdict: Good for general stuff IE. Word docs, research, movies, IM, Not the best with games though it can still play reasonably well in low resolution Easy to get good compliments

Alienware Gaming Master
Product Uses:
Gaming, web chatting, school work, internet surfing, just having fun
Review:
I was looking for a good computer for gaming and I found the best gaming computer ever made. It is more powerful than I could have ever hoped for. The processor speed is just out of this world, the ram is more than needed to be competitive in gaming and the design is so cool words just can't express it properly. The nicest thing is that as powerful as it is it can be upgraded to be even more powerful. as the complexity of games change the Alienware Aurora's designed to be upgraded to keep up with or even out pace the games themselves.

Great So Far
Product Uses:
school work, social interaction (web / skype / facebook etc), entertainment
Review:
Recently bought this machine from Dell Outlet for one of our children (15) going to residential high school. Machine arrived on time in excellent condition (no sign of an wear or previous use). No problems so far. Seems quick and stable. Wireless worked with no problems. The only problem so far is that she is now attached to it, although on the upside, she loves Skype so we communicate more now than we did before!

College computer for my daughter
Product Uses:
Gaming, video streaming, School
Review:
I purchased this computer for my daughter to use for college but I also wanted her and her boyfriend to be able to do some gaming on it as well. So far this computer has worked out perfectly for what we were looking for, my daughter enjoys the quick processor and her gaming experience has been great. This computer would not be enough for my son's gaming preferences, but for a less serious player it works well. She also uses it for online streaming and she has reported a positive experience with that as well.

Extremely poor quality and lifespan

Review:
This laptop started on a bad note. The second 320G hard drive I ordered was in the case, but had never been wired or screwed in-I didn't find this out until the keyboard failed. I opened the case and the extra drive fell on my desk. I liked the computer in general, although it was loud and ran extremely hot, the speakers are not useful beyond talking volume, and the performance was good. This was to change...
I bought this computer in August 2009. I usually move it from my desk only a couple times a week(I don't walk around with it a lot), and have so far had the following problems:
Top row of button either does not work or flickers and works inconsistently. I have reattached the ribbon but it does not stay. This is annoying because there is no other physical compact disk ejection button.
Keyboard failed, was as if holding down alt key without physical contact continuously, had to replace keyboard to fix it.
Wired in 1st hard drive was completely corrupted, had to transfer everything to a new hard drive, re install operating system. Physical hard drive was damaged, not operating system.
Graphics card freezes randomly and sometimes recovers, sometimes does not. It does this almost every time pressure beyond a keystroke takes place left of the touch pad.
USB slots are loose, and you sometimes must reinsert several times in some to get a connection.
One of the headphone slots (of two) no longer works.
Worst of all, the case is very flimsy for such a large laptop, and it and the hinges have started to loosen, so it flexes a little more than I would like it too.
All these things happened around the expiration of the warranty, in the last year or so.
I have enjoyed: -reasonably long battery life with extended battery -good game performance -An easy transition from vista to windows 7 - Laptops ability to heat a small room.
I spent a good deal on this laptop, and most likely will not be buying any more dells because of it.

Don't buy this dell
Product Uses:
Gaming, school work, office, skype
Review:
It has had more problems in the last 30 days than most laptops would have in there whole lives! 1. It's NOT a good gaming laptop, the graphics card isn't that powerful, oh and it over heats to just under 90'C, so unless you have a wireless games controller you won't even be able to touch it while gaming. 2.It has a really loud fan that is constantly changing speeds making it really annoying to use. 3. The blu-ray/DVD Drive is really lose and keeps opening and feels like it's going to fall out. 4. The USB 3.0 ports randomly disconnect. 5. The Audio Drivers keep crashing, so you have to reboot or and application that requires sound crashes to. 6. Most of the ports are at the back of the laptop making it difficult to plugin/inplug USB 3 devices, HDMI cable, the power cable and Ethernet. Those are most of the problems I have experienced so far. On the brighter side dell support was happy to help, they sent a technician round to replace the heat sink, fan and USB 3 ports. When that made no difference they gave me a refund. I would still think about buying a dell but not a high end laptop.

Review:
I've had this computer for almost two years. So far, it has been great. It's fast, easy to use, and has been reliable. Yes, I've had the occasional blue screen, but the computer always seems to correct these problems by itself. I did, however, have a problem with the LCD screen. It kept flashing white, pink, and green. This would cause a blue screen to come up, but it was fixed under warranty. I have no real complaints. This laptop functions much better than I expected.

Amazing laptop
Product Uses:

Review:
I must admit that after reading alot of reviews about the M17X R3 I was really scared about purchasing it. There were alot of posts of how the laptop was broke and wasnt configured right and had terrible customer support from Dell, I made the choice and bought it anyway.
On that note I must say that they were completely wrong, this laptop is amazing. It was configured exactly the way I requested and didnt even have any junk pre-installed software. An hour after I signed for my laptop a Dell customer support representitive called me and asked if everything on my order was correct and if I was having any problems. I told him so far everything is fine but im still updating and installing programs. He said he was glad to hear it and will contact me tomorrow to see if anything was wrong. He did and I told him everything was working perfectly.
The delivery time was bad (took a month to get it to me) but that wasnt a big deal, dell gave me next day shipping for free because of the delay.
I use this laptop mainly for school in IT and it requires me to run alot of virtual machines at the same time and this laptop can run 5, thats the most I have needed to use, and it did not slow down the machine at all (31% CPU usage was the highest of the 4 cores). I could even run crysis 2 on medium settings in the background with high FPS (I only got the nvidia 560m card, I know I know but I will upgrade it soon lol).
The really amazing part that I love about this laptop is how easy it is to upgrade the components, every peice of hardware is easily accessible and well placed, and can be upgraded with minimal computer knowledge.
I would recommend this laptop to any of my friends/family.
