Very Very disappointed with this laptop.

Product Uses:
Gaming, software development, video production, general home use

Review:
ok the pros.... as far as I can see there are non
the cons:
It has 1 2cm fan to cool the WHOLE laptop!!!! This computer has a core i7 and a medium spec graphics card what were dell thinking!!!! I can hardly use the laptop it is so hot. It randomly re-boots and blue screens. Dell have tried and failed to fix these problems, they have replaced the motherboard twice and the fan and heat sink 2 or 3 times... Also the cheap hard drive that came in the laptop originally broke in LESS THAN 1 YEAR!!!!

Nice product, good quality, very good value.

Review:
I ordered this mini for my sister, she wanted a Pink netbook and with Christmas coming up I thought what a great gift.
It arrived in about 7-9 days after ordering and was packed in a nice Dell box with the options I had asked for. After charging the unit up for a while I turned it on and was pleasantly surprised to see the Windows 7 install had been customised for my region, plus the machine had just the right amount of software built-in to get you started with what you need without bogging the machine down too much. I also like the power supply, it's all one piece and is more convenient for this style of product. I also liked that I was able to option up the purchase to include a physical copy of the operating system and drivers on DVD/CD, which came in the box.
I would certainly recommend this product.

Very Pleased

Review:
I recently recieved my Duo. I have several pc's and laptops including the Dell Mini 9. I was looking to find a Tablet solution. I thought I had struck gold with the Viewsonic Viewpad 10, however after just a couple of days I found a refund was the best option! I then decided to go with my initial gut instinct and pickup this DUO! WOW, this machine has really impressed me! I have installed the IntelAppUp service and have found dozens of great apps, I also managed to find a Working copy of Android 2.2 to install on a USB Flash and It worked great on the DUO as well! Overall this machine has great funtionality. Here are some items I have come up with regarding a few Pro's and Con's
-----------------------------------------------
Con's
Weight -- after holding this unit for 1hr, your hand gets a bit tired.

Battery Life -- My battery seems good for about 2hrs 30min constant use. This will put me just shy on some movies while traveling.
No Option to carry replacement battery.
-----------------------------------------------
Pro's
Graphics chip -- Under powered, but it's a netbook!

Display -- Fantastic touch responce, excellent clarity, Amazingly smooth display spin, and spin detection.

HD -- Plenty of HD space, would love to see a SD option!

Ram -- Enough to do what this machine needs done.

Touch vrs keyboard -- you have both, this is incredibly usefull!

CPU -- seems to have plenty of power, infact the bottle neck is no doubt the Video system!

Very disappointed

Review:
I got the XPS 15 on February 2011 (one year ago) with a one year warranty, one week after the warranty has expired the motherboard of the compute died.
Dell wants to charge $504.00 for a $700.00 computer… I called them 3-4 times every time I spent more the 60 minutes on the line… no help what so ever.
Very disappointed, will not recommend this to anyone.

Pros

I really love my Inspiron! It works awesome on my wi-fi connection and offers great speed and versatility. I've had my laptop for about one month now and I haven't run into any problems with it. The affordability was definitely a PLUS, also.

Cons

None so far :)

I am pleased that I was able to find an affordable laptop that is also reliable. I think I am a Dell "lifer"!

Very bad build quality, creaky and body breaks :-(

Product Uses:
personal use, internet

Review:
Have this laptop for 3 years and have never been so DISSATISFIED with a product. Never had the battery life that they claim, and have tried every trick in the book, from disabling bluetooth to disabling 3g/GPRS in cmos setup, to dimmest display etc. but could never get over 1.5 hrs on battery.

VERY BAD BUILD QUALITY: CHEAP PLASTIC which creaks and cracks. The palmrest was creaking from day 1. The screen hinges would seperate from their clips, and this became more frequent to a point that they seperated and could creak even more. The screen became more wobbly. The edges around the screen started coming off, to a point that they had to be clipped back together. THis again, became a routine and now the clips have lost their strength. The rimming of the keyboard keeps coming off once in a while.

I am disgusted and appauled with the BUILD quality of this laptop. I looked up on the dell site and realised that the screen rimmings are sold as an accessory at 79$'s !!!! This makes me even more certain that this is a problem with a lot many users which Dell have chosen to ignore, or rather attend to by asking them to buy another set of plastic and pay more....

I am pained to see this sort of a product from a company like Dell, with no action and no acknowledgement of the issue..

Regards,
Shreyas.
